WSECU AR Sign Post Experience
WSECU is developing of ways stimulating conversations around community engagement among their members at various company events. As a member-owned and operated credit union, this is a high priority to them. Working with the Experience Designers at Interplay, Inc., WORKSHOP 3D has developed a number of Augmented Reality-enhanced experiences that allowed people to indicate their priorities regarding several different community oriented propositions or concerns.
This experience has been play-tested at the last two TEDx Seattle events (2017 and 2018) in the lobby of McCaw Hall. During the breaks between speakers, WSECU representatives have engaged with guest to explore a number of value-oriented choices centering around a physical “sign post”. A number of selections made by the guest control the content of the Augmented Reality scene that is created. At the end of a session exploring these values, the guest is shown this scene by pointing a tablet’s camera toward a signpost which serves as the anchor and target for the scene, and, the guest is offered the opportunity to have a photo taken in the scene, with the photo sent to them by email as a keepsake of their attendance at the TEDx event.
